Mad Men's Betty Draper, is an epitome of what a young, wholesome American homemaker in the 1960s should be…but alas, nothing is as perfect as it appears!
I have less enthusiasm for this Barbie compared to the Joan Holloway Barbie as I found her chin length curled platinum blonde hair dull and makeup ordinary. Her polyester (to resemble silk?) floral print puff skirt dress has a blue bow at the back, and she wears a pearl necklace, flesh tone hosiery and blue high heel shoes to complete her outfit. January Jones who plays Betty is an attractive woman, and I’m afraid this Barbie lacks the elegance that Jones has.
What I do like about this Barbie is the contents of her
white glittery kiss-lock purse! It contains a gold powder compact with a “B”
embossed on the cover, which opens up to reveal a mirror and powder puff! There is
also has gold tube of lipstick with a removable cover (to reveal red lipstick
which matches her lips) and a comb.
