I adore the Mad Men series and eagerly await Season 5 to reach our Aussie shores. I admire Christina Hendricks’ character, Joan Holloway as she is bold, tough and resilient. Joan is a professional woman in a male dominated workplace in the 1960s, and she handles herself with poise, grace and dignity despite the personal anguish she carries with her.
This Silktone Barbie captures her beautifully with her flawless pale skin, fiery red hair and cool, no-nonsense sideways glace. Barbie wears an aubergine coloured dress with a belt, back seam thigh high stockings (love this!) and plum coloured high heels. She wears a gold pen chain around her neck, and carries a black handbag where I found the quality a little disappointing. What makes this doll delightful is that she wears a one piece lace trimmed corset to show off her hourglass figure! Oh the detail, I love it! The lingerie adds to Joan’s allure and sex appeal and is a well thought addition to the ensemble.
